Aaron Phillips aka phyto, Pentaho Developer, talked about some of the new infrastructure that he has worked on in the Pentaho BI Server in support of the SUGAR Release. SUGAR is the name of the next big release, most likely 4.0, and represents the latest code (trunk) that's in subversion. There is still no solid schedule for SUGAR, currently it is expected to be available in the winter although it is very likely that the completed features like the ones Aaron will be showing will come sooner - like in a in a 3.7 release later this summer. We are working the 2nd half road map now and should have better answers in a few weeks.

Topics include:

  • New Error Reporting for XActions
  • BI Server Plugins
    • Overview
    • Introduction to Actions
  • Possible BI Server Future

This presentation is very technical and is intended for people developing plug-ins for the BI Server.
